Who knew that one single day, one moment & one little bundle could change your life in so many ways?!?! On July 14th of this year, our daughter, SLOAN ELIZABETH ANDERSON was born @ 12:39 am. She weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces & was 20.5 inches long... This precious little soul has changed our lives in ways we could have never imagined! Here are a few pictures of our sweet little angel. Warning: picture overload! 

A huge THANK YOU goes out to our families for helping out SO MUCH since Sloan was born. There is no way we could imagine doing this whole "parenting thing" without your love, support & guidance! We now finally understand all the things we weren't able to before. We now finally understand the true meaning of unconditional love... Be still my heart!!

Baby room, no baby...yet.

Well, we spent all of this past Monday night in the hospital with the expectation that we wouldn't leave without our sweet new addition to the family... To make a long story short- no such luck. Doctors think "any time now- be ready," which almost makes this waiting game THAT much harder. I'm dilated 4 cm & contractions go from regular or irregular, but no water breakage as of yet- holy moly am I getting a SERIOUS lesson in patience. So, in light of "making use" of my time, I decided to post pictures of the precious room we have made for our sweet baby girl. 

We're still needing to put up blinds/curtains, but my mom has given herself the job of putting it together... Seeing as how she somehow didn't pass that "creative gene" on to me, I gladly accepted the offer! 

In other news, the patio/deck & fence has also been completed at our house...we've been busy! We're ready for loved ones & company to come & even MORE ready for this baby to make her grand entrance!!

As of late...

AS OF LATE


Well, as of this past week I've been placed on bed-rest for the remainder of my pregnancy... Nothing serious going on, don't worry! My doctor (whom I think the WORLD of, by the way!) just wants to play everything safe & make sure that my heart rate (which was skyrocketing even @ the most normal of activities) stays where it needs to be. 


I've checked off many things on my "to-do" list, but am quickly running out of things to keep myself stimulated. There is only so much you can read & so many times you can rearrange the baby room... I'm in need of a hobby & on the look-out for one! 


In the mean-time, however, I get to hang out with these two sweet souls...our dogs, Neo & Tess. I think they are LOVING me being home & I am loving getting to snuggle & love on them! Here are a couple of pictures of my sweet little clan. 


I'll post pictures of the baby's room (which is coming along NICELY, by the way!) soon... Stay tuned!!

Happy Birthday, Tess!!

Today is a VERY special day for our sweet girl-dog, Tess!! She is one year old today- I can't believe it! It feels like just yesterday we brought her home! Here are a few pictures of our "journey" this last year... 

This is the day we picked her out. She was so sweet & fearless & just won our hearts immediately!! 

She's always been quite the inquisitive soul...but what a sweet face! How could anyone not love this sweet pup?!

Tess has always loved to look outside & take everything in- especially when it rains. This was her gazing out the window the first time she discovered rain. I love those ears!!

This is my favorite picture! She was just "hanging out" in a lawn chair as Jon did yard work when we moved into our new house.

Our sweet Tess loves hanging out with her big brother, Neo... These two are quite the pair!

Sugar & Spice & Everything Nice...

Isn't that how it goes?!? I'm not well-versed in nursery rhymes, but guess that I probably should get on that. Jon & I had our sonogram yesterday- what an experience! That little gummy-bear, that has been making me sick & have all sorts of aversions for the last few months, is really a sweet little GIRL!! The sweet little pea was apparently taking her afternoon nap at that particular time, so we had to "poke" her a little to see her move around... She even yawned at one point- it was the cutest thing! I haven't scanned the pictures onto the computer yet, but will soon. I can't WAIT to start buying little pink things & decorating the nursery room- geez, so much to do before the end of July! 

We have no idea what we're going to do or how we're going to decorate, but we have lots of really creative friends... Wink!!  :)  Clearly, this picture isn't a reality for a long time- I was just trying to find something pink & brown!

Our sweet "little" Neo turns 2!!

Our sweet "little" Great Dane, Neo, turns TWO today! I can't believe how much this one animal has changed our lives... We brought him home on my birthday when he was just 8 weeks old & have never ever been the same! 

This was our sweet puppy @ 10 weeks old- just 2 weeks after we brought him home!! 

And now...

I know he's HUGE, but he's seriously one of the sweetest souls that ever was created! 

We LOVE you, Neo! Happy birthday!! 

Paul & Brittany's Wedding!!

In January of this year, we had the opportunity of traveling to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico to celebrate the wedding of two of our closest friends...Paul & Brittany! We got to stay in a LOVELY resort, that was rented out for only the wedding party. It was such a treat- the staff cooked us all all 3 meals & waited on us night & day. They were so accommodating & made us all feel right at home!! Here are some pictures of our week there. 

This is the WONDERFUL resort we stayed at... We're all just dying to book an "encore" vacation here- it was THAT good!! 

Puerto Vallarta was an incredible city to explore. A group of us spent a day looking around, shopping, eating right on the beach & fending off all the people that tried to sell us anything & everything under the sun! 

The wedding took place overlooking the ocean & was the most beautiful setting ever!

These appetizers were the most incredible thing I've ever had in my life... I may or may  not have eaten 37 of these! :) 

In addition to AMAZING food, we got to spend the week with some FABULOUS friends. It really made me reflect on how incredibly blessed we are!!

This is where we got to lounge for a week- whale watching, eating, laughing & relaxing... It was a TOUGH life! 

Overall, it was a fabulous week...but most of all, we were so happy to be a part of Paul & Brittany tying the knot! Now, we wait for little Boyett's!!  :)

Wedding Day- party time!!

After the ceremony was over, our reception was at the beautiful Masonic Temple of Fort Worth. It was such a fun time...good music, great decor, amazing food & LOTS of dancing!! 

This was my cake- I loved it! Catherine Ruehle with Sublime Bakery in Fort Worth did an incredible job & was fabulous to work with... Not to mention, they were the.best.things.ever in your mouth!!
